Sahood and Rizwan Khan are residents of Gubradi village and both completed their graduation. He started his bee business in September last year. Initially, both of them bought 50 cans of bees each with the help of the district horticulture department and now their number has increased to 110-110 cans. In this business, both Sakkhya brothers have sold honey, wax, pollen etc. worth about one and a half lakh rupees in a few months. These two brothers have become an inspiration to many.
Useful way to improve livelihood
If you want to start this business to earn a lot of money, Horticulture Department provides training to youth in Ramnagar Kurukshetra with 85 percent subsidy from Govt. Accommodation and food during the training will be absolutely free. One rupee per kg of raw honey is also given to the youth. Farmers and unemployed youth can increase their income up to two lakh rupees annually by adopting beekeeping with just 50 bee boxes. Overall, beekeeping can be a great way to improve the standard of living of farmers.
