Like every day on January 1, state-run oil companies have announced new rates of petrol and diesel in the country. Changes in petrol and diesel prices are seen in many states of the country. Fuel prices have come down in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. While some other states including Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Goa have seen an increase in petrol and diesel prices.

New rates announced every morning at 6 am
Petrol and diesel rates change every morning at 6 am and new rates are issued. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, VAT and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, it almost doubles the original price. Petrol prices in Maharashtra are based on dynamic fuel pricing system and hence revised regularly.

Easy way to know new rates
You can also know the daily rates of Petrol Diesel through SMS. Indian Oil customers can get information by sending RSP and their city code to 9224992249 and BPCL customers can get information by typing RSP and their city code and SMS to 9223112222. So, HPCL customers can know the price by sending HPPrice and their city code to 9222201122.
