‘Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University along with research students, professors, staff will be registered by biometric method from January 1. The administration has prepared from that point of view, and the whole process will be completed within a week,’ said Vice Chancellor Dr. Pramod Yevle clarified while interacting with the press on Saturday.
The university has started the process to register the presence of research students in the department, hostels also biometrically. Biometric registration is mandatory for faculty, non-teaching staff of the department along with research students. Vice-Chancellor said that biometric attendance of employees will be linked with salary. Yevle explained. With that, the process of registering the attendance of students has been started. Necessary biometric system is being installed for that.
Department wise registration of research students, the process is going on. The university has 51 different academic departments. Research students are doing research in various subjects in 42 of these departments. This includes Sarthi, Barti, JRF scholarship holders. Biometrics is also being opposed by student unions. But the administration is adamant about biometrics and it has been clarified that the process will be completed in eight days.
‘Facilities will be increased for students’
“The university has taken the first step by giving academic autonomy to the departments. To give autonomy to maximum number of colleges in the new year; Also, there is a resolution to increase the facilities of the students, said Dr. Yevle expressed. Various resolutions are set for the New Year. In this regard, he said, ‘We are trying to implement the new education policy effectively. The main concept of the new policy is ‘Skill Based Education’ and ‘Student Centric Administration’. At this time Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shyam Shirsath, Registrar Dr. Bhagwan Sakhle, Finance and Accounts Officer Pradeep Kumar Jadhav, Director of Examination Board Dr. Ganesh Manjha, Founder Dr. Bhalchandra Waikar, Dr. Dr. Valmik Sarvade, Coordinator of Invention. Ratnadeep Deshmukh, Dr. Mustjeeb Khan, Dr. Kailas Pathrikar, Convener S. G. Shinde and others were present.
