Students and parents recently got satisfactory answers to many questions like how to prepare for ‘JEE’, ‘CET’ and ‘NEET’ (NEET) exams, how to plan studies, what are the various career paths in science, after taking admission in science stream in class 11th. Students and their parents were found to be stress free in a sense after learning various simple methods about studying science subjects.
The occasion was a guidance session organized by ‘Maharashtra Times Culture Club’ and ‘Learn Ac’. In this session, the students were guided by expert professors in science and their doubts were cleared. Dr. Ninad Shevde, Sunil Kulkarni, Dr. Ashutosh Sule, Counselor Dr. Shirisha Sathe and others participated in the mentoring session. Experienced Professor of Physics Dr. Ninad Shevde guided the students about the subjects they should take in the 11th. Earlier ‘Ghoka and Oka’ method was used in studies. This method will not apply in the new education system. Students should be able to understand and apply each and every syllabus taught. Students will have to prepare in that way,’ said Shevde. He also gave guidance about ‘CET’ which has to be given for engineering.
Sunil Kulkarni guided the students about ‘JEE’. He said, ‘JEE is not only for getting admission in IITs. Through this exam it is possible to get admission in NIIT as well as reputed colleges in Pune. So students should prepare thoroughly for this exam. If you don’t get admission in IIT, your studies are not wasted. Analytical thinking, logical sequencing, accuracy in calculations should be used to make MCQ easy.’
Dr. Ashutosh Sule gave information about ‘NEET’. ‘Students who want to give NEET ignore maths. They should not do that. Because the language of physics is mathematics. If mathematics is good, then there are no difficulties in learning physics,’ he pointed out. Counselor Dr. Shirisha Sathe also interacted with the parents about the mentality of the students. ‘Understand the minds of children,’ he advised.
