Grant will be given only after ‘NAC’ assessment
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has made NAC assessment mandatory for granting grants to colleges, and this decision has been taken for the purpose of quality higher education, informed through ‘UGC’. Due to this decision, the colleges will have to undergo NACC assessment if they want the grant.
The status awarded to higher education institutions through ‘NAC’ is of great importance at the national level. The quality of educational institutions is determined by the grades given through NAAC. Colleges are required to meet several academic criteria as well as facilities for ‘NAC’ assessment. So while doing this evaluation, the quality is taken care of by the respective colleges. However, it has been observed that many educational institutions are not conducting this assessment. Therefore, with the aim of improving the quality of higher education, NAC assessment has been made mandatory for colleges. Efforts are underway at various levels to implement the new education policy 2020 through the central government.
