Moreover, it is also essential to promote high-quality research at AIIMS and increase the institution’s NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) ranking in research.
Eligibility for PhD Fellowship:
To promote research in various institutes including AIIMS, the administration has proposed to start 40-50 PhD fellowships along with PM Research Fellowship (PMRF) scheme at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). For this, a budget of Rs.200 crore has also been provided for the approval of the statutory committees of AIIMS and Government of India. This is part of the reforms suggested by the AIIMS administration in the selection process for PhD and institute fellowships.

The discussion also highlighted the fact that Doctor of Medicine (DM) and Master of Surgery (MCH) entrance examinations as well as PhD entrance examinations should be conducted twice a year at different centers in the country.
