Two disabled schools in the city have finally received a license through the Divyang Commissionerate in Pune, thus clearing the way for the unpaid salaries of these schools for almost four months.
“Maharashtra Times” had consistently followed up on this issue and published news. Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse had also ordered the concerned officials to complete the work immediately. So this pending issue has been cleared. The license renewal process of Padsad Karn Badhir Vidyalaya and My Lele Divyang schools in the city was pending with the Disability Commissioner’s office in Pune for four months.
Even with constant follow-up, this process was not completed. About a hundred days after submission of the application form, the concerned schools were told through the Divyang Commissionerate that there was an error in the documents. Even after rectifying these errors, the officials of this commissionerate were reluctant to renew the license.
Finally, after four months of waiting, the license renewal process of both these schools has been completed. Due to stalled renovation, the salaries of around 40 to 45 teachers and non-teaching staff in these schools were also stalled. But, now this process is going to end soon.
The concerned schools were not even given salaries through the Divyang Commissionerate since before Diwali. After that, information was being given through the officials of the commissionerate that the wage subsidy would not be given unless the license was renewed. ‘Maharashtra Times’ had consistently published news about this injustice being done to disabled schools.
Keeping in mind the seriousness of this issue, Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse had also suggested to get in touch with the Commissioner for Disability and resolve the issue within a week.
These schools work for children with disabilities. So social workers should not face such a time. Actually no one should have this time. ‘Mata’ consistently followed up on this and presented the true situation. Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse also took the initiative and cleared our four-month stalled work in four days.
