According to the educational policy of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, compulsory and equal free education should be provided to all in government schools and provision for education should be at least six percent. Everyone should get reservation in education. However, the new education policy lacks all these points. Therefore, a resolution was passed in the Social Justice Council meeting held in Delhi that Shahu Maharaj’s educational policy should be implemented across the country after withdrawing the new educational policy.
National General Secretary of Communist Party of India D. Raja, National Secretary Dr. Bhalchandra Kango, DMK MP Wilson P., Jan Adhikar Party’s Pappu Yadav, Mandal Commission Chairman B. P. Mandal’s grandson Prof. Dr. Suraj Mandal, Prof. Jawaharlal Nehru University. Milind Awad and Harish Wankhede, Shabnam Hashmi, Girish Fonde, Dr. Amrita Kumari, Nitin Mane, Kush Ambedkarwadi etc were present. This time D. Raja narrated Shahu Maharaj’s point of view. He said that the basis of reservation given by Shahu Maharaj was not only economic inequality, but also social inequality.
Shahu Maharaj’s thoughts will always be an inspiration to create a society without caste, gender and class discrimination. The recommendations of the Mandal Commission should be implemented. Giving reservation to the underprivileged community in proportion to their population will be a true tribute to Shahu Maharaj,” said Prof. Dr. Mandal said. “Current new educational policy is against Shahu Maharaj’s educational policy.
Through this, according to Manusmriti, the strategy of creating hierarchies in the society should be foiled’, said Prof. Awad said.
