Pooja saw a lot of struggle from the beginning of her life. Her family’s financial condition was not good. In such a situation, Pooja took tuition for studies. After this she worked as a receptionist. Meanwhile, she got a job in Canada through biotechnology and left. From there she went to Germany and worked there as well.
While working there, she realized that she was contributing to the development of Germany. She wanted to come to India and do something for her country. So she left her job in Germany and came to the country and started preparing for UPSC.
Pooja failed in her first attempt. Pooja cleared UPSC in 2018. She became IPS in the second attempt. In 2021, she got married to IAS Vaktar Bharadwaj. Options are officers of 2016 cadre.
While posting in Tharad, Pooja’s work was highly appreciated. Tharad is a geographically important place. It has one border with Pakistan and the other with Rajasthan. This area is also considered a gambling den. Pooja has seized liquor worth crores of rupees from this area.
