Shirdi Lok Sabha Constituency MP Sadashiv Lokhande had come for a meeting at Taklimia Gram Panchayat in Rahuri Taluka. At that time, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s group and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s group faced each other. The area was rocked with sloganeering from both sides.
‘Chief minister Shinde agae badho hum tumhare saath hai,’ the Shinde group announced. In response, supporters of the Thackeray group chanted ‘Fifty is OK. What do these traitors want to do, head down, feet up?’ This made the atmosphere tense. Realizing the seriousness of the situation at the spot, the Rahuri police, who were present there, detained seven people who were shouting slogans like ’50 boxes are ok’. Along with shouting slogans, some protested by displaying black flags. The detained activists have been taken to the police station and further action is underway against them. MP Lokhande, however, preferred to repeat the meeting and leave.
MP Lokhande has visited 32 villages in Rahuri taluka. He has announced the working of the Shinde group. Annasaheb Mhse, Bapusaheb Shirke, Sunil Karale, Rajendra Devkar, Sampat Jadhav, Shyam Gosavi, Balasaheb Pawar declared their support for Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in this new executive committee. In response, Rahul Sitaram Chothe, Subhash Maghaji Chothe, Sachin Bhausaheb Karpe, Hamid Raj Mohammed Patel, Vitthal Sonyabapu Suryavanshi, Chandrakant Sharad Bhalgile and Sunil Raosaheb Kawane, who were displaying slogans and protest flags, were detained by the police. Rahuri is the constituency of former NCP minister Prajakt Tanpure. MP Lokhande is on tour there to strengthen the Shinde group.
