Mumbai – The Nifty50 index started trading on a positive note in the final session of the week following optimistic global cues. In this analysis we will discuss some of the leading stocks that have witnessed price volume breakouts.

Nifty50 started the week-end session on a positive note at 17,867.50. It preferred to react to optimistic global cues in the morning session compared to the previous close of 17,858.20. Wall Street’s major indices rose after the US consumer price index (CPI) fell for the sixth month in a row. The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.64%, the Dow Jones 0.64% and the S&P 500 Index rose 0.34%.

At 10:40 am on Friday, the Nifty50 index of the National Stock Exchange was trading down 40.9 points or 0.23% at 17,817.30. While the broad market indices performed mixed compared to the leading indices. The Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index fell by 0.56% and the Nifty Small-Cap 100 index by 0.07%.

According to January 12 data, foreign institutional investors were the sellers while domestic investors were the buyers. Foreign institutional investors sold shares worth Rs 1,662.63 crore. Domestic institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 2,127.65.
