The state finance department has issued orders in this regard. Accordingly, from July 1, 2022, the rate of inflation allowance on the basic pay has been increased from 34 percent to 38 percent on the revised pay structure as per the Seventh Pay Commission. The Finance Department has issued an order to pay the increase in Inflation Allowance from 1 July 2022 to 31 December 2022 in cash along with the salary for the month of January this year.

Accepted the report of the Bakshi Committee on salary revision of state government officers, employees
The decision to accept the report of the State Pay Reform Committee (Bakshi Committee) Volume-2 was taken in the Cabinet meeting held today. This will eliminate the pay errors of many cadres and benefit the officers and employees. This will result in a financial burden of Rs. 240 crores. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presided over the meeting.

According to the recommendations of the Central Seventh Pay Commission, there was a demand from the officers and employees regarding the revision of the salary structure of the state government and other employees. Accordingly, on January 17, 2017, retired Additional Chief Secretary K.P. A State Pay Revision Committee was appointed under the chairmanship of Bakshi. This committee considered 3739 demands received from officers and employees. Also discussed in detail with various departments on January, February 2019. The committee submitted volume 1 of its report to the government on December 5, 2018 and it was implemented.

Volume II of the Bakshi Committee’s original report was submitted on February 8, 2021, which was accepted by the state government today. The committee has taken into consideration the flaws in the 6th Pay Commission as well as the demands for hike in the revised pay structure of the 7th Pay Commission. The revised pay scale will be approved notional from 1st January 2016. Also, the direct financial benefit will be given from the 1st day of the month in which the government order is issued.
