According to Dawn newspaper, Imran Khan has been arrested in the Al Qadir Trust case. Further details on the arrest are not yet available. When Imran Khan came to the High Court for biometric verification, this action was taken by the Pakistani Rangers. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Musrat Cheema has claimed that Imran Khan is being tortured. The party also claimed that Khan’s lawyer was also beaten up and was seriously injured.
Imran Khan’s arrest comes after a rally in Lahore where he made serious allegations against the army. In this rally, Imran attacked former President Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto.
After the arrest of Imran Khan, the Islamabad Police tweeted that Khan was arrested in the Qadir Trust case. PTI Vice President Fawad Chaudhary tweeted that Imran Khan is currently in the custody of Rangers in the High Court and lawyers are being tortured. Imran Khan’s cars were surrounded.
Meanwhile, another PTI leader Azhar Mashwani has alleged that Imran has been kidnapped by Rangers. He has appealed to the party workers across the country to unite. Prior to Imran Khan’s arrest, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had condemned Khan’s serious allegations against the army. Zardari criticized that the PTI chief has stooped to a low level to defame the country’s institutions.
