Ankara: The earthquake in Turkey on February 6 shook the whole world. There was a huge loss of life in this earthquake. A missing Indian citizen was found dead under the rubble of the hotel where he was staying on Saturday. Vijay Kumar Goud, a resident of Uttarakhand’s Pauri district and working in a company in Bangalore, had gone to Turkey for work. According to the information provided by the Indian Embassy, Vijay’s face was completely crushed, making his identification extremely difficult. However, he got confused by the ‘Om’ tattoo on his hand.
Vijay Kumar lived in Padampur area of Kotdwar in Gaud Paudi district. Their clothes were found in the rubble of that hotel in Turkey on Friday. Following this, the Indian Embassy in Turkey tweeted on Saturday, ‘We are deeply saddened to inform you that parts of the body of Vijay Kumar, an Indian citizen who went missing in Turkey after the February 6 earthquake, have been found. His body has been recovered from the rubble of a hotel in Malatya, Turkey. He had gone there on a business trip.
Vijay Kumar’s wife and son were under fear for the last 5 days as they did not know anything about Vijay. He was hoping to get some good information about him. But, on the fifth day of the search, they finally got the news they didn’t want. Vijay’s body will be taken to Istanbul and then to Delhi. Family sources said it may take three days for his body to reach Kotdwar.
The couple was traveling in a luxury car, the police stopped it for investigation, as soon as the door of the car was opened…
Vijay Kumar’s elder brother Arun Kumar Gaur said Vijay used to work at Oxy Plant India Pvt Ltd and was on a business tour. After his brother went missing, he called his brother. His phone was ringing but Kunibi was not answering. He had spoken to his wife and six-year-old son on phone on February 5. It was finally decided, and immediately after that came the news of his death. On the morning of February 6, the hotel where Vijay Gaur was staying collapsed in a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey, killing Vijay. His death has brought grief to the family.
