Pervez Musharraf breathed his last at the age of 79. He has been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dubai since 2016. Pervez Musharraf was the former President of Pakistan. He was also a retired Pakistani army officer. General Musharraf was directly involved in the Kargil war.

Former retired general Pervez Musharraf, when he was the army chief, took over the power of Pakistan in a coup. Musharraf violated the constitution and declared emergency in the country on November 3, 2007. A sedition case was registered against him in December 2013.

Pervez Musharraf was sentenced to death. This was the first time in the history of Pakistan that a former president was sentenced to such a sentence. The sentence was pronounced by the Peshawar High Court. However, this sentence was later canceled by the Lahore High Court. Lahore High Court has said that the decision given by the special court is unconstitutional.
