Chief minister Eknath Shinde’s party leader and state agriculture minister Abdul Sattar has been embroiled in controversy after he criticized NCP MP Supriya Sule in offensive terms. The NCP delegation has met the governor and demanded the removal of Sattar from the cabinet. Also, aggressive agitations are being carried out by NCP activists across the state. In the background of this political tension, today’s tour of Buldana district of Abdul Sattar has been cancelled.
Abdul Sattar was scheduled to visit the birth place of Rajmata Jijau at Sindkhedaraja this morning as the chief guest at the concluding program of the Akhand Harinam week at Changephal. But since yesterday, NCP has protested sattars across the state. Also, Sattar canceled the tour as the Buldana district NCP warned that Abdul Sattar would not allow him to set foot in the district.
A symbolic effigy of Abdul Sattar was burnt by NCP activists last evening. Also, as it was said that Sattar will visit the district today, the NCP had also given an aggressive warning. In this background, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde himself is said to have instructed Abdul Sattar not to go to any public place for eight days.
Meanwhile, at present Abdul Sattar is ‘not reachable’ and he may remain in hiding for eight days, according to his close relatives.
