Balasaheb Salunkhe hails from Karjat taluka and is considered a supporter of senior leader Balasaheb Thorat. That is why it is said that he got the post of District President. Salunkhe had expressed his support for Tambe while giving interviews to local newspapers when political events were going on in the Nashik Graduate Constituency. Party Dr. Salunkhe had made a statement that the suspension action against Sudhir Tambe was wrong and now the entire Ahmednagar district Congress will stand by Tambe. Salunkhe also appreciated the work of Satyajit Tambe and said that injustice is being done to him.
The news clippings were forwarded to the regional office. Accordingly, party general secretary (administration and organization) Pramod More has sent a show-cause notice to district president Salunkhe. It says that, ‘It has been published in the newspaper that we will support Satyajit Tambe, an independent candidate from the Nashik Graduate Constituency. On the instructions of the state president Nana Patole, we are informed that this news has been released by us or by someone else? The disclosure should be sent in writing to the regional office within two days.’
In Ahmednagar district, it can be seen that there are two streams of opinion in the Congress as well. Some church teachers are also in a mood to support Tambe. On the other hand, there are officers who support the decision taken by the regional office. This shows that arrangements are being made by the region so that Tambe does not get support from the party at the local level. Salunkhe is the district president of the party. So their role is important. Therefore, attention has been paid to what they disclose to the state Congress regarding this, and what role they take in actual campaigning.
