Swarajya Pratishthan at Ahmednagar today presented the play ‘Mi Pana Nathuram Godsech Boltoy’ in the State Drama Competition. However, Savarkar lovers claimed that this drama showed a wrong image of freedom fighters Savarkar and Nathuram Godse. Interestingly, when the last number of the play was on, a group in the auditorium stood up and demanded that the play be stopped immediately. He also shouted slogans, condemned the actors performing the play, the directors and the organizers of the competition.
Some senior artists also objected to this play saying that it shows wrong history. There was also an argument between the two groups of artists. Finally, the police came to the spot to settle the dispute. After that, the controversy was shelved for some time. However, on behalf of Savarkar lovers, Utkarsh Geete and Amol Hubey Patil said that they will meet Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in this matter and will listen to him.
The 61st Maharashtra State Theater Competition Festival 2022-23 has been organized by the Directorate of Cultural Affairs of the State Government. These competitions are being held from November 15 to December at the Ahmednagar Centre.
