Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA) and Western Railway have prepared the Andheri Station Redevelopment Plan. But the approval of the Railway Board is awaited on the final proposal. The development work will start after the Railway Board approves it. The redevelopment will focus on easy handling of passenger traffic, providing world-class facilities and providing facilities as the focal point of the city.
Andheri station is the busiest station on the Western Railway. Harbor line is also connected to Andheri station, also cable Andheri station through Metro One is also connected to this railway line, thus up to five lakh passengers are transported through the railway station every day.
As part of the redevelopment plan, it is planned to develop two parts, a free movement area and a ticketed area. A residential complex is also proposed to be set up in the area around the station. The green building is proposed to provide disabled access station, CCTV and modern building management and smart station, passenger facilities on the lines of CSMT. Meanwhile, the redevelopment plan has received preliminary approval and the Railway Board’s approval process is underway.

The face of Andheri railway station, known as the busiest station on Mumbai’s Western Railway, is set to change soon. Indian Railway Station Development Corporation Limited IRSDC will develop the Andheri Railway Station in phases. The total area of ​​redevelopment for this is 4.31 acres. 2.1 acres will be worked on in the first phase and the remaining area in the second phase.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus will also be redeveloped. 1800 crore will be received for the redevelopment of CSMT. For the last several days, the activities for the redevelopment of CSMT station were underway. The redevelopment will now see a major increase in CSMT’s facilities. Notably, the station will see an increase in food and beverage outlets and entertainment facilities after the redevelopment. Also, more energy saving systems will be used in the station.
