Mahesh Pujari and Rama (name changed) got married 25 years ago. After living together for a few years, Mahesh started living separately as quarrels started between the two. He also married a second time. Since the children were with Rama, the closeness again increased and his coming to Rama increased.
Rama refused to take him in the house asking him to go and stay with his other wife. Mahesh got angry at this and on Friday morning around 5:30, when Rama was filling water, he entered the house and emptied the bottle of acid in his hand on Rama’s body.
Rama, who was injured in the acid attack, was admitted to Bhatia Hospital in Taddev by her children with the help of neighbours. The hospital administration admitted Rama and informed the police about the incident. Lokmanya Tilak Marg Police traced Mahesh who had escaped after throwing acid. Police informed that he has been arrested in this crime.
