Y. T. The entertainment company has filed a suit in this case against M/s Sunrise Pictures Private Limited Company and its director Abdul Siddiqui and M/s Rajkumar Santoshi of Cinema Company Rajkumar Santoshi in 2014. In it, the company Adv. Urgent application was filed through Anuj Narula. After the hearing on it, Civil Court Judge V. D. Ingle gave this order on Friday (January 20). Santoshi’s lawyers immediately filed an application requesting that this order be stayed for a few days. Narula opposed it. After that, the judge rejected the application explaining that ‘Santoshi has been given a period of five days to deposit the cash guarantee in the court, and during this period the option of appealing to the Bombay High Court is also open to him’.

Meanwhile, ‘We have sent a copy of this order of the court to PVR Pictures, UFOMovies and other concerned through email. Adv. Narula told ‘Maharashtra Times’.
What is the matter?
‘We had paid two and a half crore rupees to M/s Sunrise Pictures. While agreeing to repay the money, Sunrise Pictures said that since Rajkumar Santoshi owes us Rs 50 lakh, they will mutually pay that amount to you. Santoshi also accepted it. After that, whenever the next movie produced or directed by Santoshi anywhere in the world or with which he has a direct-indirect relationship is released, Y. T. Sunrise Pictures clarified through a letter dated July 21, 2011 that Rs 50 lakh should be paid to Entertainment.

The letter is also included in the July 27, 2011 compromise agreement with Sunrise Pictures. However, in December-2011, despite the release of the movie, Nikla Hero, a cracked poster of Santoshi, Santoshi refused to pay on the grounds that he was not the producer and director of the film but only the director. We have filed a claim on the part of Santoshi in breach of contract and avoiding payment. Now we know that Santoshi’s Gandhi Godse-Ek Yuddh movie is coming. Now they are likely to avoid it again on the grounds that they are not the producer of this film but the wife or the company.

They do not seem to intend to fulfill their obligation to pay. So they should be ordered to first deposit Rs 50 lakh in the court and if they don’t do so, stop the release of their movie. Also, the related materials of the movie should be seized and a court receiver should be appointed over it’, requested Y. T. Entertainment had done in its application.
