Unauthorized construction near the grave

What is the history of unauthorized construction?
Unauthorized construction near the grave is said to have started 25 years ago. It is alleged that some miscreants built the Afzal Khan Memorial Trust. 19 rooms were constructed in the forest department premises near the grave. Former MLA Nitin Shinde had alleged that gangsters Haji Mastan, Karimlala and Yusuf Patel had done this construction. It is also said that a garland of coconuts used to come from Mumbai for the grave.
Court order for unauthorized demolition

There was also an allegation that the government took a stance that tension would increase if unauthorized construction was carried out. It was demanded that the site of Afzal Khan’s killing, which inspired the fight against terrorism, should be opened to Shiv devotees in Maharashtra. There was a demand to erect a statue of Afzal Khan’s slain, to name it Shiv Pratap Bhoomi.
What is the history of the tomb?
This place, where Section 144 is in force, has a history dating back to the time of Shiva Raya. Afzal Khan’s Kotha was torn by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. After that, the tomb of Afzal Khan and his bodyguard Syed Banda was built at the foot of Pratapgarh. It is mentioned that this six feet grave had a koularu roof till 1956. After 2006, the grave was closed to the general public

After the violent protests of 2006, the tomb was closed to the general public. But the demand of Shiva devotees was always ignored. Fadnavis issued the orders in a highly confidential manner and the operation was started overnight.
