Nepali Congress leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Bimalendra Nidhi hails from Janakpu, birthplace of Mother Sita. They are coordinating with Janaki Temple to send this Shaligram Shila. These stones from Kali Gandaki river are being sent to India.
The rocks found in the Black Gandaki river are considered sacred all over the world. Bimalendra Nidhi has given information in this regard while talking to the news agency ANI. Bimalendra Nidhi said that he requested the Secretary of Ram Janmach Bhumi Mandir Trust Champat Rai to make an idol of Ramlalla from it if a good type of stone is available.
Janaki visited Ayodhya along with Ram Tapeshwar Das, the priest of the temple. At that time, Bimalendra Nidhi said that he requested the officials of the trust in Ayodhya. After that, it was decided to use rocks from the Kali Gandaki river in Nepal to make idols of Ram Lalla, said Bimalendra Nidhi.
Bimalendra Nidhi said that two Shilas were fixed for making idols of Rama and Sita. One stone weighs 18 tons and the other stone weighs 16 tons.
Both the piles have been sent to India by truck from Nepal. They will reach Ayodhya on February 1. These slabs will enter through Madhubani in Bihar. These pillars will reach Ayodhya from Muzaffarnagar and Gorakhpur.
Bimalendra Nidhi said that he will provide necessary support to the Ram Mandir Trust. Ayodhya and Janakpur are two historical places. Bimalendra Nidhi said that the Shaligram stone used to make the idols of Rama and Sita is a reflection of the religious and cultural bonds between India and Nepal.
Janakpur, Nepal celebrates the birth of Ram and the marriage of Ram and Sita. Bimalendra Nidhi has been in talks with the Indian government for the last two years to send the scraps to India. After discussions with India’s Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri in Janakpur in 2020, Nidhi requested the Sila to be sent to Ayodhya. After completing all the permissions and procedures in India, the Sila are being brought to India.
In December 2022, the government of Nepal had given approval to send the stone to India. These stones were brought to Janakpur from Kali Gandaki river. After the people there saw the stone, it was sent to Ayodhya.
