Toll tax has to be paid by those traveling on highways. This tax is collected by NHAI. If you own a four-wheeler and are traveling on highways, you have to pay toll tax. However, if you have a two-wheeler, you will not have to pay toll tax. Road tax is collected only when buying a two-wheeler.

Apart from this, the persons holding some other important positions will not have to pay tax. It exempts paramilitary forces, uniformed central and state armed forces including police, fire departments, executive magistrates, persons engaged in inspection, survey, construction or operation of national highways, body carriers, Ministry of Defense and mechanical vehicles designed for the disabled.

Tax to be paid as per travel
According to these new rules, now the tax has to be paid according to the journey. Accordingly, the toll price will be different for one-way journey. So the toll cost will be different for double journey. Also, the pass facility has been made available to those traveling continuously on the highways.
You can also check the list through SMS
Toll tax list can be known through SMS. For this you need to send a message by typing TIS < Toll Plaza ID to 56070 from your phone. A list of toll tax rates will be available on your phone as soon as you send an SMS.
