“Everybody can clearly see that injustice has been done…”, Sikandar’s reaction to the Maharashtra Kesari controversy

Solapur: Sikandar Shaikh was one of the strong contenders to win the Maharashtra Kesari Kusti Tournament. Sikandar Sheikh of Mohol in Solapur district was said to be the mace of this year’s Maharashtra Kesari wrestling tournament. But his defeat in the semi-final came as a shock to everyone. Sikandar, popularly known as the ‘Tiger of Maharashtra’, commented for the first time after the defeat. What exactly happened from the beginning until he was defeated; He himself said this while discussing with Sama TV. Sikandar said, “I was wrestling with Mahendra Gaikwad and he got 1 point when he gave me a 30 second warning in the first half. But after the first half ended, he got 3 points in the second half, then it was 1-3.”

He further said, “When the result was entered, when the leg was planted, the leg was not perfectly seated. I had complete control of the waist. My leg was on one side of his shoulder. If 4 points are to be awarded, then the full danger position is 4 points. . They should have given him 2 points here, because he hung up. 2 points to him and 1 point to me. They gave it 4-1 and there’s a wrong decision here.”

Next said Sikandar. “Because of this wrong decision, I couldn’t make a comeback in 2 minutes, and the wrong decision completely cost me a year of hard work.”

Further, when Sikandar was asked whether injustice had been done, he said, “Everybody can see that injustice has been done, there is no use in telling me now. All of Maharashtra can see and they can also see what injustice has happened.”

Not only this, his parents have also expressed their fury after his match. Sikandar’s father, who himself was not a wrestler, said, ‘We have raised him by attack.
