Five acres of land sold for son’s wrestling, daughter wins gold medal in Maharashtra Kesar

Seed: Wrestler Atish Todkar, who won the gold medal by defeating Kolhapur’s wrestler in the recently held Maharashtra Kesari Tournament, was given a warm welcome by the villagers of Mangrul in Ashti taluka of Beed in Ashti town. Jubilation is being celebrated in Beed district as wrestler Atish Todkar defeated Kolhapur wrestler Suraj Aswar to win the gold medal in the 57 kg category of the Maharashtra Kesari wrestling tournament.

Atish Todkar is a resident of Mangalore village in Ashti taluka of Beed district. Keeping his father’s dream and his own determination, his father sold five acres of land for Atish’s wrestling and sent Atish to a wrestling arena to train him. His father sold five acres of land for his dreams and to justify his decision, Atish took up wrestling with dedication to his wrestling and won the gold medal by defeating a Kolhapur wrestler in the recently held Maharashtra Kesari tournament.

Seeing Atish’s hard work and integrity, he started his practice in Alandi. Practicing he reached Delhi, till now Atishi has participated in many national competitions. He also won a medal in this.

What did relatives say?

With a lot of hard work he moved from village to taluka to city like Mangalul village and now he is currently practicing in Delhi. Atish has a dream to play for the country and is preparing to put in the hard work required for it.

My father sold me about five acres of land and gave me wrestling lessons. My father always comes before me in every rehearsal, every competition, he is my source of inspiration. Atish says that I am ready for any fight. But after Atish won the gold medal, there was a big celebration in Ashti taluk.
