Ishan Kishan took a brilliant catch
Umran Malik bowls the 31st over of Sri Lanka’s innings. On the fifth ball of this over, Sri Lankan batsman Charit Aslanka tried to hit a big shot, but the ball hit the top edge of his bat and went into the air. The ball was near fine leg and Ishan Kishan raced in and took a diving catch as it bounced in the air. The catch was so far off Ishan Kishan that Harshal Patel, fielding at deep fine leg, could have easily caught it. He signaled Akshar Patel to stop and took the catch. Even Hardik Pandya couldn’t believe this catch and started laughing. He is widely praised for his excellent fielding.

Everyone is appreciating this amazing catch by Ishan Kishan. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan tweeted that this is the best catch by a wicketkeeper in recent times.
A glimpse of Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen in this catch by Ishan Kishan. In 2018, the Indian team was playing a match against the West Indies. In the third match of the ODI series, Indian team wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni took a similar catch of Chandrapal Hemraj while running to fine leg.

Contribution in batting too
Ishan Kishan also played explosive batting along with excellent fielding. Ishan Kishan batted aggressively in the first over. But the Sri Lankan bowlers started to put pressure on India later. Debutant Shubman Gill could not do anything special in this match and was dismissed for 7 runs. After this, Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson were also dismissed cheaply. But then Ishan Kishan along with captain Hardik Pandya pulled the team out of the difficult situation. He played an innings of 37 runs, which included 2 sixes.
