The court had directed Paes to pay Rs 50,000 monthly rent to Pill on the condition that he vacate his Carter Road, Bandra (West) flat within two months. Paes, in the petition, said the relationship between Pillai and him was not “in the nature of marriage”.
Paes and Pillai met in 2005 and had a daughter in 2006. It said that their relationship broke up after the birth of their daughter and they both remained cordial for the sake of the baby. Paes alleged that Pillai was married to actor Sanjay Dutt till 2008 and got two sea-facing flats worth over Rs 20 crore from him in Bandra (West) during the divorce. According to the petition, Pillai chose to live in Paes’s apartment, causing financial burden on him.
In another petition, Pace asked the court to condone the delay in filing the appeal. He mentioned his father’s health, the appointment of new lawyers and Pillai’s refusal to leave the house. Advocate Prasanna Bhangale has argued the case and the hearing of Paes’ plea will be held next week. Paes’s petition said that he had always taken responsibility for his daughter’s financial affairs, but Pillai was only fooling herself.
