PCB has now started a new play for the World Cup. Now the Pakistan team will send a security team to India. Wherever Pakistan matches are going to be held, this team will conduct security inspections. Pakistan team will play in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad in the World Cup.
A PCB spokesperson said, “The board needs permission from the Pakistan government for any tour of India, including match venues. We are contacting our government for guidance and will update the ICC as soon as we receive information from them.”
Apart from this, PCB is preparing to send its security team to check the security arrangements at the places where Pakistan Cricket Team will be playing matches. No time frame has been set for this process and it will depend on the government’s response. It is a practice for some teams to conduct such security assessments before major events. The 2016 T20 World Cup match against India had to be played from Dharamsala to Kolkata due to the report of Pakistan’s security team.
