Team India has been eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2022 (T20 WC 2022). In the semi-final match on Thursday, they lost to England by 10 wickets. Indian players could not compete with England in any way in this match. After this humiliating defeat, former cricketers are not only angry at Team India’s performance, but are also questioning the changes in the team throughout the year. Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has repeatedly raised a similar question regarding the change of captain.
This year, the Indian team gave the captaincy opportunity to many players. Virat Kohli was the captain at the start of the year, followed by Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah on different occasions. Regarding this, Ajay Jadeja said, “There should be only one elderly person in the house. If there are seven elderly persons, it becomes a problem.”

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Jadeja said, “I will tell you one thing but it might shock you. If a captain wants to build a team, he has to stay with the team for a year. How many matches did Rohit Sharma tour in a year? I have said this before. You build the team. If there is and are not with the team, then this is inappropriate.”

In this World Cup, Team India won last balls against Pakistan and Bangladesh. Meanwhile, they lost in the group stage against South Africa and in the semi-final against England. The Indian team could only beat Zimbabwe and the Netherlands easily. Only Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya were effective in batting. The bowling was good in the group matches but the Indian bowlers could not take a single wicket in the semi-finals.
