A senior BCCI official confirmed, “Unfortunately he will not be selected or considered for the New Zealand series. This is not done to kick them out of the team or anything, we think we need to build a better team for the future. It will be seen what the rest of the selectors decide.”
Interestingly, after the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, Team India has to play a 3-match T20 and ODI series against New Zealand. In which Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be part of the ODI series but these two players will not play in the T20 series starting on January 27.
