New Delhi: Vivo is known for innovative and attractive designs. The company brings some new design in every new smartphone, which attracts the users. Vivo has recently launched a new phone series, named Vivo V25 Series. It has introduced two smartphones, including Vivo V25 and Vivo V25 Pro. Today we are going to review Vivo V25.

Vivo V25 : Design

Vivo smartphone designs are always unique. Same is the case with this phone. The back of this phone is UV light sensitive, which causes the phone to change color in sunlight or artificial UV light. The company has launched this phone in two colors Elegant Black and Surfing Blue. We had the Surfing Blue color variant. This color will appear blue or green or light or a combination of both. However, if you expose this phone to sunlight, its color will turn dark blue.

We love the color changing design of this phone. Users can use this phone without a case or with a transparent cover. There is no fingerprint on the back of the phone, which is a good thing. Although the phone is flat around one side, it uses a glossy finish, which makes it prone to a lot of fingerprints. At the same time, the flat edges make the phone a bit difficult to hold. You will feel the phone slipping out of your hand frequently. On the other hand, talking about the front design of the phone, the company has given a U-shape notch, which some users may not like. A 50MP front camera sensor is provided in this notch.

Vivo V25: Display

The phone has a 6.44-inch FHD + AMOLED display. It has a refresh rate of 90 Hz. But in this price range, the company should have offered a display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Although the phone’s UI navigation is quite smooth, we missed the 120 Hz refresh rate a bit, but it would have been more fun if it had the same refresh rate. The brightness of the phone is good. So you can easily see the content on the display even in sunlight. The phone has an AMOLED display, so you will enjoy watching videos. For the price of this phone, we found its color output and peak brightness to be average.

Vivo V25: Camera

The best thing about this phone after the design is the camera setup. The phone has a triple camera setup on the back, with a primary camera of 64 MP, the second camera comes with an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens. At the same time, the third camera comes with a 2 MP macro lens. The main camera of this phone also has OIS feature. Photos taken from the phone’s main camera are good, as it has good detailing and exposure. The photo has a lot of focus, color balance and color is also good.

The brightness of images taken in night mode is good. However, the detailing felt a little lacking. Video was also shot well from the main camera. But, it cannot be called very good. Video stability is good though. Ultra-stable mode is also provided in this smartphone. which can further improve video stability. But, in this mode the frame of the video will be of crop-in type. The camera of the phone is good with ultra wide angle lens. Photos clicked with this lens turned out well. However, this sensor can only capture 1080p 30fps footage.

Now a little about the phone’s selfie camera. Vivo has provided a 50 MP front camera in the front notch of this phone. This selfie camera comes with autofocus mode. You will see a lot of brightness calories in selfies clicked from this phone. Overall, the phone’s selfie camera is pretty good. With this front camera, 30fps videos can also be shot at 4K. Photos clicked in portrait mode are also very good.

Vivo V25 5G : Battery

Vivo V25 is backed by a 4500 mAh battery, which comes with 44 W fast charging support. It takes about 50-55 minutes to fully charge this phone. At the same time, after full charge, you can watch videos for about 7-8 hours and its battery can support you for gaming for about 5-6 hours. So we felt the battery backup should have been a bit more or better.

Vivo V25 5G : Performance

Now let’s talk about the processor of this phone. Mediatek Dimensity 900 chipset is used in this phone. Whereas, in the previous variant of this phone i.e. Vivo V23, the company used the Mediatek Dimensity 920 chipset, which was launched in the same price range. Didn’t like this thing. Because, nowadays smartphones launched in this price range use heavy processors like Mediatek Dimensity 1300 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. So why the company has used a downgraded chipset in this phone is beyond comprehension. Talking about the performance of the chipset inside the phone, the phone comes with 8GB and 12GB RAM options. Thus, you can easily open and use multiple apps simultaneously on this phone.

We used this phone by opening some heavy gaming apps simultaneously and doing several multitasking tasks, but didn’t notice any lag issues even once. During gaming, you will also see excellent graphics in the phone, but if you play some heavy games like COD Mobile or Apex Legends for more than 2 hours on this phone, the phone starts to heat up a bit.

Vivo V25 5G : Software

Talking about the software, the phone runs on Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12. If you have used a Vivo phone before then you will like the operating system of this phone and if not then you may face some problems at first. Many malware apps will already be available in the phone. But, you can easily uninstall it.

The connectivity features of the phone are good. Its Bluetooth, WiFi and speaker output are excellent. Although the phone doesn’t have a headphone jack, you’ll need to use earbuds or a neckband. Wired earphones cannot be used with this phone. You won’t be able to use an external memory card in this phone, but the phone offers up to 256 GB of inbuilt storage, which is enough for most users. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor, through which you can easily unlock the phone.

Vivo V25 5G : Price

The first variant of this phone comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, priced at Rs 27,999. At the same time, the second variant of this phone comes with 256 GB storage along with 12 GB RAM. Which is priced at Rs 31,999.

Vivo V25 : Our opinion

If you want a phone that looks good and has a great selfie camera, you can buy this phone. But if you want a gaming pro phone or a phone with heavy processing, then this phone is not a good choice for you. We found the price a bit high for the phone’s features. It would have been nice if the 8GB RAM variant in particular had been priced a bit lower.
