Block your SIM card:
If the phone is stolen, the phone number can be misused. Block SIM card means block every app on the phone. which can be accessed through OTP. You can always get the same number issued on a new SIM card. This may take some time. But, your privacy and mobile wallet are very important.
Block Mobile Banking:
Block access to these services immediately if the phone is stolen. Because, no transfer can be done without OTP to the registered number. But, both need to be blocked when the phone is lost or stolen.
Deactivate UPI Payment:
Even a slight delay can land you in trouble. Once access to an online banking service is blocked, a thief can try to steal money with another feature, UPI payments. In such cases, this also needs immediate attention. Deactivate it as soon as possible.
Block all mobile wallets:
Mobile wallets have made life easier. But, mobile wallets like Google Pay and Paytm can take a toll if your phone falls into the wrong hands. Contact the respective app’s help desk and ensure that no one has access until you set up the wallet again on the new device.
Report to the police:
Once these things are noticed, it is important to report the matter. Ask for a copy of the FIR, which you can use as evidence in case of misuse of the phone.
